Gosselin opens state-of-the-art warehouse complex

Gosselin opens a 12,000-m2 state-of-the-art warehouse complex in the presence of clients, prominent figures and staff. Just less than a year after starting up its operational warehouse activities, Gosselin made the time to officially open the impressive building on the Merksemsesteenweg.

Marc Smet, CEO of Gosselin Group, explains. “The plans to do something at the old Crown Cork site have been ready for years now. In September 2017, the time had come to fully develop these plans. The result is one we are unusually proud of.”

During the construction, the Brug van den Azijn was also replaced, lending the building even more grandeur. “This was a nice, yet unplanned, confluence of events,” Marc Smet adds. In November 2017, Gosselin Logistics opened the doors to the complex for business, and the warehouses were also made operational.
“The 2,700 m2 of office space was completed in April 2018 and now that the Car Storage facility for classic cars is finished, the building is fully operational. We are pleased that Mayor De Wever can join us at the official opening of this great project.”

The official inaugural ceremony for this project was held with and for clients, and celebrates the opening of the Gosselin site on the Albert Canal in Deurne, a complex with a total surface area of 250,000 m2, 125,000 m2 of which is warehouse space. We made a conscious decision to celebrate this momentous occasion in the presence of our clients. “We are constantly looking for solutions for our clients and space for the handling of goods. It was within this context that we started the procedure for the concession at the Port of Antwerp, marking the first steps in this direction,” Marc Smet concludes. “The concession at the port means an additional 90,000 m2. We also happen to have a burning ambition to make every project a success.”

Pairi Daiza collaboration - A cactus of considerable size

The most remarkable transport that Gosselin carried out in its collaboration with Pairi Daiza? Without a doubt, the impressive cactus, Pachycereus pringlei, from Tenerife, one of the most emblematic plants of the world’s largest tropical greenhouse, Edenya.

An exceptional project in full bloom: Gosselin and Pairi Daiza

Pairi Daiza was looking for a reliable partner to handle all aspects of importing plants and materials from outside Europe. Everything was destined for Edenya, an impressive new universe within the park. Thanks to our own customs department CMC and the guarantee of a single point of contact for all shipments, we were able to offer exactly what Pairi Daiza needed: structure, expertise, and peace of mind.
