Forest department of Gosselin Logistics concludes important collaboration

Deurne (Belgium), December 2023 - Just before the end of the year 2023, a delightful gift falls from the sky for Prime Forest, Treecraft, Solid Doors, and Gosselin. A splendid collaboration between the companies has been formalized. In the coming years, the enterprises of Treecraft, Prime Forest, and Solid Doors will collaborate with Gosselin to ensure the smooth flow of various logistical processes.

Gosselin Logistics, and by extension, the Forest department led by Manager BU Forest Products Geert Nielandt, will handle the transportation, storage of plywood and doors, and the logistical handling, including value-added services, for the three companies in the coming years: "We will do everything in our power to ensure that this process runs seamlessly," says operational responsible Wendy Van den Bosch. "From tree logs to sawn semi-finished products to finished doors. We will leverage our expertise to make it a success for all parties involved. With our online tracing, we will also be able to provide our partner with further improvement of their customer service."

“On our part, we want to make optimal use of the capabilities of Gosselin Logistics. Their expertise in the logistical know-how of wood products instills a lot of confidence in us,” adds David Holvoet, owner of Treecraft, Solid Doors, and Prime Forest. “We are convinced that a thorough consolidation of activities can have a strengthening effect for both parties.”

Years of collaboration

“This is not only a business agreement, but we also endorse the values of our company regarding long-term relationships,” says David determinedly. “Being able to formalize 25 years of collaboration in the form of a real fundamental partnership feels like a next step towards an even better customer service.”

“We already processed the logs from Prime Forest through our terminal in Deurne, but now there is a substantial volume added from the two other companies, plus exclusivity over the logs,” concludes a visibly satisfied Geert.

The exact size of the collaboration is not entirely clear yet, according to both gentlemen, but it is evident that it will not be just a few containers per month. Both companies expect growth, thanks in part to the collaboration.

“The key: efficient planning. Transporting a lighter (barge) 72+ TEU in one go. Otherwise, we would have several calls at MPET, with the risk of missing the departure, and we would be able to cool them down immediately upon arrival,” explains Bruno Cambien in an email to MSC’s Intermodal Executive Martijn Lagaune. It is the start of a remarkable journey.
