Gosselin Logistics highlights its ambitions with the investment in an additional crane for its terminal on the Albert Canal. On Monday, May 3, the crane will be delivered by inland waterway to the terminal as a kit, and the assembly can begin.

A subsidiary of the Gosselin Group, Heavy arranged the transport of two gigantic tubes for the steel industry weighing in at 24 and 14.5 tons. The tubes were transported from the producer in Lokeren (Belgium) via the Gosselin terminal to the client in Ijmuiden (Netherlands) by truck and barge.

The acquisition of the former Milcobel site in Schoten will add another 65,500 m² of space to Gosselin’s current location along the Albert Canal. After this expansion, Gosselin will have a total logistics area of 430,500 m² at its disposal.

Antwerp fumigation company Descroes worked with Gosselin Logistics to complete a new set-up in Deurne. This new set-up allows a 2,200 m² warehouse to be fully heated, and fumigation services for both soft commodities and project-based cargo to be applied.

Brucargo’s logistics partners have been working with the slot booking app since 2018. This technology enables users to avoid long waits at the warehouses and makes better, more transparent scheduling possible. Gosselin Logistics won the prize for best user of the app in 2020. Quite an achievement!

Since Gosselin’s terminal activities are continuing their upward trend, we decided it was high time to buy a new reach stacker. The new stacker was delivered at the beginning of the year.

Customers in niche markets can also find what they need at Gosselin Logistics. A customer specialized in moving helicopters contacted Gosselin for logistical support in shipping a B-212 from Zeebrugge to Canada.

“Even in these turbulent times there is still potential for growth”, says Dirk Vanhoutteghem, Director of Gosselin Logistics. “We look at every transport from a multimodal perspective and this explains the 12% growth our barge activities have shown. We are of course very pleased with these figures.”

Effective June 1, the lifting and handling activities of Heavy, a Gosselin Group company, will be handled by Samoco, a member of the Sarens Group.
