TVH and Gosselin Logistics commit to a more sustainable supply chain
By using e-trucks for last-mile delivery to its warehouses, TVH is working with Gosselin to make its entire inbound supply chain more sustainable.
The pilot project with test containers was a huge success. TVH has therefore decided to import all containers in a multimodal way from now on. “We see that we can take a lot of containers off the road, be more sustainable and also call up containers more flexibly,” says Christophe Decaluwe, Regional Traffic Manager at TVH.
The two electric trucks are brand new and will now shuttle between the Gosselin Terminal West – formerly Delcatrans – in Wielsbeke and TVH's warehouses. "The containers arrive at the Port of Antwerp-Bruges and are transported by barge to Wielsbeke. The last mile to Waregem is then covered by the electric truck. This allows TVH's entire supply chain to operate in the most sustainable way possible," explains Dirk Vanhoutteghem, CEO of Gosselin Logistics.
But the collaboration does not end there. TVH also wants to continue focusing on sustainable solutions in the future. “Gosselin is an important partner in this,” concludes Christophe Decaluwe.
